It's mid-January and therefore you might have the mid-winter blues. If you do -- or even if you don't! -- be sure to check out our production of "The Sum of Us," which has just opened in our intimate "black box" theater (also known as "the Dietz").
"The Sum of Us" is a funny and heart- warming story of a gay man and his straight father. Playwright David Stevens sets his play in present-day Australia.
John Q. Bruce (at the left in this photo) plays Harry, a widower searching for Mrs. Right. Meanwhile, Harry's son, Jeff (played by Dane Lee, at the right in this photo), is a plumber and amateur footballer looking for Mr. Right. Harry and Jeff are not your typical father and son -- and yet, in many ways, they're just like people you know! Dad can be a bit of meddling matchmaker, but Jeff knows how to handle his father through a generous dose of humor! The play's central question becomes this: Can Jeff's new boyfriend and Harry's new girlfriend accept this unconventional father-and-son duo?
You'll find out when you get your tickets for "The Sum of Us," a tender examination of the ties that bind.
The show is on stage now through Saturday, Jan. 30. Showtimes are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. General-admission tickets are $18 each.
But don't wait until the last minute to get your tickets! The Dietz Theater can accomodate only 53 patrons per performance. Avoid an inevitable sell-out and CLICK HERE to get your tickets online!
