The art of acting is a combination of wit, charm, self-confidence, life experiences, understanding and technique. An actor's technique is their method of getting the most out of their own talents and abilities and using them to interpret a character. This begins with the basics: projection, diction, breath support, listening & reacting, body language and analysis. As the student progresses, the focus is on developing technique and building skills to support and an actor's own strengths, and counter their weaknesses. Goals are established by the student and instructor at the beginning of each session.

  • Weekly lessons with a professional acting instructor.
  • Goals and evaluations set jointly by the student and instructor.
  • Study of Stanislavski Technique Develop and identify Goals, Obstacles, Tactics and Expectations (GOTE).

Piano is the ultimate tool. It is used to make beautiful rich music with chords, counterpoint and feeling. It is also the most useful tool to teach music theory. Piano is a musical foundation for everything else giving students the ability to analyze the music and understand what makes a song successful. Studies show that students who study music theory have greater concentration in school, coordination, patience, self-confidence and higher scores in reading and math. Advanced students will also study the art of accompaniment.

  • Weekly private study with professional piano instructor.
  • Monthly studio class to teach performance and audition techniques in front of other students.
  • Music literature selected to match the level of the student.
  • Study of music theory, composition and ear training.
  • Audition preparation and creating a working portfolio of pieces as the student advances.
  • Students have the opportunity to participate in OMEA solo and ensemble contest.
