Marcus Martin returns to teach Audition Workshop
Weathervane Playhouse is ecstatic to announce distinguished alum, Marcus Martin, who is currently touring as the Genie in “Disney’s Aladdin,” will be returning to teach an audition workshop on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The workshop will consist of the participants getting to work on their audition monologues or songs with coaching from Marcus, as well as some time devoted to questions and answers.
Attendees may either participate in the hands-on coaching segment of the workshop or as observers. The cost of the workshop is $75 for participants and $25 for observers, with all proceeds going to support Weathervane Playhouse. As a part of this offering, all attendees will be able to have a professional headshot taken by Dale Dong. Attendees (observers AND participants) will receive a proof sheet and have the opportunity to purchase a high resolution copy of their headshot from Dale for $40. Participants should be 12-17 years of age and have a one- minute monologue or 32 bars of a song prepared. Participants are required to send in the materials they will be working on to Elijah Chase at echase@weathervaneplayhouse.com before the workshop for Marcus' review.
About Marcus Martin: Marcus Martin was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Marcus attended Copley High School and started his career at Weathervane. Marcus is a recent graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Baldwin Wallace University and moved to NYC in January 2021. His previous credits include Andy Wright in The Scottsboro Boys, Preston in Freedom Summer, and currently Genie in the Disney Broadway Tour of “Aladdin.” He is ecstatic to be returning to Weathervane Playhouse to teach this workshop.
