Richard Ellison, MD

Dr. Richard Ellison is an ophthalmologist with over 40 years of experience in medical practice, specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology. He currently works in Ophthalmology for the Akron region at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Ellison holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Kent State University and earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. His expertise in ophthalmology is where he manages both patient care and the operational aspects of his practice. Prior to his current position, Dr. Ellison served as managing partner and president of a privately-owned ophthalmology practice, where he led both clinical and business operations.

Dr. Ellison has made contributions to his community through his volunteer work. He has served on several medical boards, including the Ohio State Medical Association, where he held positions as board member, secretary, treasurer, and president. His community service also extends to the arts, where Dr. Ellison served on the Board of Trustees for Weathervane Community Playhouse from 2012 to 2020.
