Summer Theatre Academy 2025

Weathervane’s Summer Theatre Academy 2025 offers a wide variety of camps focusing on acting, storytelling, musical theatre, dance and more! Camps range from one- to two-week sessions, with each ending in a final presentation. Students will bring their own lunch each day.
Camps begin June 2 and run through August 22, 2025, and are offered for ages 3 to 17!

Students will spend their days using their imaginations to bring their own original stories to life inspired by animals and farmer to create a final informal presentation being presented on the last day of camp. Our performance Intensive is for students who are ready to put on a show! This fast-paced workshop produces a production in 2 weeks. Students will work with a professional director and receive training and guidance to bring their masterpiece to life. This years’ play is "Same Room, Different Story" By Claire Broome

The Tech Intensive is for students who want to study the visual elements of theatre from costumes, props, lighting and set design. They work alongside our technical staff and performance intensive director to design, create, and run tech for the final performance .

Ever wondered what it's like to audition for tv shows, film or commercials? This class will focus on on-camera acting techniques taught by a professional tv/film actor and teacher. Students will read from actual tv and commercial scripts as well as learn how the casting process works ending with a performance on the final day!

Grab your tap shoes and join us for Broadway Boot Camp in the style of 42nd Street. Students will learn the basics of tap technique and other Broadway dance styles as well as classsic Broadway jazz showtunes, singing technique and scene work. Students will show off their new triple threat skills on the final day of camp. Tap shoes are required.

It’s back! The Force is strong with you… Join our Jedi Master to train and go from Padawan to Jedi. You will go through a series of activities, learn basic stage combat, and create an action
story to present on the final day of camp. Students will be provided with robes and lightsabers to use for the week…everything a Jedi needs!

Learn what it’s like to run the show! In this class, students will learn the principles and practices of being a stage director. Students will cast, stage, rehearse, and present short scenes with the assistance of an experienced instructor. Students from the class will also gain the benefit of acting in each other’s scenes.
*Must apply or be recommended for this class. Prior acting classes or performance experience is required.
