David Bird
David Bird once was a banker. Then educated as a Software Engineer, he began a career in software at the University of Akron primarily in the Computer Center serving the entire campus and then the Department of Psychology in research and data analysis. After ten years he joined a large Human Resource consulting firm in Pennsylvania where he continued in software design specializing in graphical testing scenarios and data visualization. Twenty-five years ago Bird headed out on his own freelancing and consulting under his own LLC. As a partial owner of a printed circuit board manufacturing company he can be found behind the scenes with specification and order management of circuit boards delivered to over 800 companies all over the USA and beyond. His freelancing takes him to local airlines addressing flight document management as well as flight booking/manifest management software.
In his spare time David can be found in his wood shop in the backyard of his West Akron home or traveling to places international or local, with his wife, Mary.
Bird’s theatrical experience began in 1989 when he was volunteered by proxy to help build some set pieces and paint some 25’ x 40’ drops for Babes In Toyland at the Akron Civic Theater, then presented by The Goodyear Community Theater group from Goodyear Tire and Rubber.
